FIFA World Cup

I think we can all agree the World Cup is extremely interesting, but what about the terrible referees? The USA lost two goals to bad calls, and now England and Germany were hurt in the elimination round. That brings up the idea of instant replay in soccer. How about goal line technology? But what about offsides? If a review shows a offsides called that wasn't, what do you do? Reward a free kick? Share your opinions.

  1. what i think needs to happen is the addition of refs at the goal line. again this will not solve the problem, but the sport is ment to be non-stop(excluding half time). this is not like most american sports where there are breaks in between play already and there is time to stop and review.

  2. I like that thought because replay is slowing down games (baseball with all the umps leaving, and football with 5 minute replays). I think any way that the game could stay at its current pace would be good.

  3. a simple addition of goal line technology like what is used at Wimbledon is what FIFA needs. Yes, it might cost a lot of money, but I'm pretty sure an event as massive as the World Cup would be able to afford it.

  4. What do you like better to put at the goal line, the referres or the technology?

  5. referees, say i ball does not go across the line but the refs say it did they got to review it and they see it did not. but there was a player right there that could have taped it in but he did not because he and the refs thought it was a goal. the team just lost a goal. also if they review and see it is not a goal who get the ball?

  6. Good point. I really wonder if the FIFA big guns will actually do something about it and make a change.
